Colleen Kuo, Founder, BCBA
Colleen Kuo, M.S. is a Board Certified Behavior Analysts and music instructor with 10+ years of experiences working in school, clinics, in-home and community settings with learners of all ages. She received her undergraduate degrees in both psychology and piano performances from University of California, Irvine. She later obtained her Masters of Sciences in Applied Behavior Analysis at National University. Colleen worked with centers and clinics as a BCBA and facilitated various social groups, early intervention programs and some adult transition programs.
Colleen is an also actively supports the autism global dissemination movement. She interned and volunteered at both Taiwan and China to support local universities and centers for behavior treatment for autism. She has a strong passion in using creative yet individualized treatment methods to help her clients reach their highest potential. Additionally, Colleen has been actively teaching music and piano for over 10 years. Her expertise in music education as well as behavior treatment (ABA) has served as a strong asset in helping her create inclusive education amongst the neuro-diverse population. Some of her favorite activities include hiking, playing badminton, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. One of her 2025 bucket list is to get a scuba diving certification and explore the underwater beauty of Maldives or Bora Bora!

Meet the Teachers

Music Teacher
Mr. Thomas Nguyen
Mr. Thomas Nguyen is a skilled pianist and dedicated music educator with over eight years of teaching experience. He began studying piano at the age of seven and holds degrees from both California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) and Musicians Institute (MI), specializing in classical and jazz performance.
​
Mr. Thomas’s teaching style emphasizes a thoughtful, theory-based approach—encouraging students to “play smarter, not harder”—while fostering a genuine love for music. Outside of teaching, he volunteers as a church pianist and actively participates in choral groups. He also has a deep appreciation for anime, often drawing creative inspiration from its music and storytelling.

His lifelong passion for music, paired with his dedication to his students and community, makes him a dynamic and inspiring educator.

Music Teacher
Mr. Gideon Park
Mr. Gideon Park is a dedicated musician with lifelong experience in both piano and cello. He has competed at the state level in California and participated in masterclasses through the State Panel Honors Program, as well as with many esteemed professors throughout Southern California.

A perfectionist at heart, Gideon emphasizes technical precision and musical accuracy in his teaching. While completing his Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies, he also pursued a year of piano performance studies at Northwestern University under the mentorship of Dr. Sylvia Wang. He has performed extensively as a soloist, accompanist, and member of various chamber and orchestral ensembles.

Gideon brings a thoughtful and structured approach to music education, helping students develop both artistry and discipline in their playing.

Music Teacher
Ms. Mihwa Lee
Ms. Mihwa Lee began her teaching career in 2001 and has since taught in a variety of settings, including private lessons, preschool programs, and church music. With over 20 years of teaching experience, Mihwa brings warmth, patience, and passion to every lesson. She enjoys helping students of all ages develop a lifelong love for music while building strong technical skills and musical understanding.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Piano from the Catholic University of Daegu in Korea. Mihwa is known for her effective lesson planning, clear communication, and ability to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students can thrive both musically and personally.
Outside of teaching, Mihwa enjoys spending time with her family. She is married and has two daughters who share her love of the arts. In her free time, she enjoys tennis and hiking, activities that reflect her appreciation for balance, rhythm, and the beauty of nature.

Music Teacher
Ms. Daisy Li
Daisy Li started the piano journey at the age of 4 and has been active on the stage for over 20 years. She produced her first piano solo album at the age of 12. She has experience teaching piano students of all levels for over 7 years, whether at the college level or the music institutions worldwide.
With the Master of Music from New York University, Li Jingying's teaching is not only to the piano technique skills. She is also committed to stimulating students' musical creativity and independent thinking during the private piano lessons. That will help the students to think and play the piano at the artistry level. Fun fact about her is that she loves to sing all kinds of songs!

Academic Teacher / ABA Behavior Therapist
Ms. Yvonne Lee
Ms. Yvonne Lee holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley. For the past four years, she has worked as an instructional assistant and substitute teacher in elementary school special education settings. In addition, she has over a year of experience as a behavior therapist, supporting children with behavioral and social challenges while also providing academic assistance.

Yvonne is passionate about working with children and is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of families. She brings a warm, nurturing approach to her work, creating supportive learning environments for every child.

A proud mother of two daughters, Yvonne enjoys spending time with her family and friends, sharing good meals, and relaxing with a great movie or drama in her free time!

Academic Teacher / ABA Behavior Therapist
Ms. Yian Deng
Ms. Yian Deng, M.S. Candidate in Applied Behavior Analysis at the University of Southern
California (USC), holds dual Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Biology from Rutgers
University. Her interest in behavior analysis began in 2021 during her undergraduate studies in early intervention and adolescent development, where she worked with the Rutgers Douglass Psychology Center to provide academic and mental health support to children and adolescents across a range of ages and needs.
Yian is passionate about working with children and approaches each client with warmth,
curiosity, and a genuine desire to build meaningful relationships. Her practice is grounded in recognizing and celebrating neurodiversity, she aims to understand each child and family through the lens of culture, environment, and individual strengths.
With a strong appreciation for creativity and the arts, Yian integrates expressive tools such as drawing, crafts, and building into her sessions. She loves turning learning moments into playful, engaging experiences, making space for joy, connection, and growth.
